Security across disparate technologies and cloud environments made simpler with dedicated managed service

Node4 announces an extension to its partnership with Trend Micro, a global leader in security solutions, that sees Node4’s dedicated managed Security as a Service (SECaaS) portfolio boosted with Trend Micro™ Deep Security™. The service enhancement of N4Cloud Security will enable organisations to manage different hybrid cloud services across disparate technologies by single-console management to improve efficiency and governance.

Typically, organisations deploy a variety of cloud services (such as N4Cloud, VMWare, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft® Azure) using a combination of both public and private hosting, which results in multiple disparate technologies to secure. By incorporating Trend Micro’s hybrid cloud protection alongside its own managed SECaaS Node4 is solving this problem and helping business without the resources to protect multiple cloud environments themselves to outsource the problem, and in doing so, achieve the ultimate defence against evolving threats.

“UK enterprises can now benefit from end-to-end security services which span across the Node4 proposition, from consultancy, hosting, to fully managed services and support. This means that organisations can stop new threats faster, and know data is protected in physical, virtualised and cloud environments. It also takes the pressure off resources with information held in impressive state-of-the-art data centre facilities that ensure even the most mission critical applications are hosted securely and fully protected. N4Cloud Security allows enterprises to consume security as a service no matter what stage an enterprise is in their IT transformation,” said James Munroe, Head of Channel Sales UK at Trend Micro.

“Many businesses don’t have the skill sets to manage the variety of technologies and cloud services they have, let alone the security requirements they require. Our managed services can take these strains away,” commented John Williams, Product Manager at Node4. “It was an obvious decision to partner with Trend Micro following the release of its new suite of security services for hybrid environments. Security is a key pillar for Node4 and this partnership allows us to further strengthen our portfolio for our customers and deliver the ultimate defence against today’s evolving cyberattacks while simultaneously freeing up resources.”

Trend Micro Deep Security provides server security for physical, virtual and cloud deployments to suit each environment, offering multiple layers of protection that safeguard data as it moves across the data centre, cloud or hybrid system. All these controls are executed from a single point of management and reporting, for ease of maintenance, which in turn optimises efficiency and governance, and ensures attacks are acted upon quickly.

Node4’s SECaaS is fully-managed by Node4’s Security Operations Centre (SOC), removes the complexities of planning, building, and managing infrastructures, and ensures security operations are monitored 24/7 by experts to keep businesses operating at peak performance; this links with Node4’s orchestrated N4Stack service which balances security with cloud optimisation.

N4Stack is a new business unit launched by Node4 to address the need for customers to assess the suitability of multiple Cloud platform and systems management options. Bringing together expertise across the business encompassing data management, DevOps and Cloud architecture, N4Stack is working with our customers to help define their Cloud strategy and subsequently migrate and manage their environments.

Node4 launches performance assured storage as a service solution
Posted by Tom Hassan on 31 October 2017 02:08 PM

Latest addition to storage portfolio caters for criticial workloads that demand performance-guaranteed, flexible, high-IOPS storage

Node4 has recently added a performance-assured storage tier to its storage portfolio. This new tier is aimed at enabling critical customer applications and workloads, and offers guaranteed performance in terms of latency and IOPS. As such, businesses can consider cloud-enabled storage for a wider range of business-critical applications.

As with Node4’s other storage solutions; our new PSTaaS offering is built on industry-leading NetApp technology, (specifically NetApp SolidFire All-Flash Arrays), which is integrated into Node4’s infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service (PaaS) products.

Node4’s PSTaaS can operate up to 100,000 IoP/s, and can be integrated flexibly and easily with other Node4 products, including NetApp Private Storage as a Service (NPSaaS). This allows customers to securely build hybrid solutions, whether applications are configured in Node4 Cloud, the public cloud, or another private cloud. This allows for unparalleled levels of data mobility, data sovereignty, and overall performance.

“Customers buy into Node4 because they appreciate our flexibility, our independence, and our ability to take problems and offer a complete, guaranteed solution,” comments Gregg Mearing, Head of Managed Services, Node4. “We’ve seen an upswing in demand for performance-guaranteed storage recently. Unlike just about anyone else in the market, Node4 can offer PSTaaS alongside a wholly-owned, performance-guaranteed end-to-end network, and alongside the ability to design, build, host and support services on its infrastructure. We remove the complexity of developing solutions and shoulder the responsibility of delivering required performance levels. That will come as welcome news to many IT professionals.”

As well as the standard benefits of flash storage under an OPEX payment model; Node4’s PSTaaS offers encryption-at-rest as standard, compression, de-duplication and thin provisioning, and QoS-assured performance with burst capability. Node4’s PSTaaS is also completely scalable, with performance assured whether you’re using a single server or a complete virtual data centre. Customers do not need purchase dedicated cloud resources to fix performance levels: just agree what performance levels are required.

Node4 achieves Master Designation worldwide to sell and deliver UC as a Service

Node4 has achieved the Cisco® Master Service Provider (CMSP) designation for a new category; the Cisco Powered UC as a Service based on HCS (HCS).

Node4 has also successfully met all criteria required to renew the Master Service Provider designation for Cisco Powered Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Cisco Powered Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS). Node4 will continue to be identified as a Cloud and Managed Services Master Partner in the Cisco Partner Locator.

The CMSP is a comprehensive framework that recognises, helps to enable, and rewards partners who offer cloud, managed, or virtual managed services based on Cisco technologies.

CMSP accredited providers must meet various Cisco requirements to prove that they have the ability to develop, deliver, manage, and support Cisco-based cloud and managed service solutions.

This certification by CMSP recognises that Node4 has achieved an elite level of expertise to sell and deliver cloud based and managed services. To be able to offer these services as Cisco Powered Services, Node4 needed to complete a rigorous third-party audit. This audit verifies that services are delivered with enterprise-class reliability, security and support.

Node4 is one of a few number of Cisco partners to have invested time and money into the CMSP accreditation.

“Renewing the Master Service Provider designation was very important to us at Node4. Achieving the designation for the new UCaaS, HCS based solution in addition to the original two clearly validates Node4’s commitment to delivering world-class cloud infrastructures and services,”

Andrew Gilbert, CEO, Node4.

“Through this accreditation, our customers can be confident they are working with the right partner to help them fulfil the potential of deploying cloud solutions, with a best practice approach to managing and designing Cisco-based solutions.”

The Master Service Provider designation also recognizes Node4’s investment and commitment to providing cloud and managed services at Cisco’s highest standards. The shared goal is to help businesses and organisations realize faster time to value.
