Node4 achieves HSCN Compliance
Posted by Tom Hassan on 28 July 2017 10:44 AM

Node4 is proud to announce that it has become NHS’s Health and Social Care Network (HSCN) compliant.

This new achievement puts Node4 in a strong position to fulfil the company’s ambitious growth plans for this sector.

The Health and Social Care Network (HSCN) is a new data network providing a reliable, efficient and flexible way for health and social care organisations to access and exchange electronic information.

Node4’s public sector team delivers the most effective and flexible application of technology to optimise business performance across the industry including central government, local government, health, education, devolved administrations, emergency services, defence and not-for-profit organisations. Node4’s HSCN compliance enables its team to sell connectivity services to the health and care sector.

Vicky Withey, Compliance Manager, Node4 comments; “The HSCN allows the health and social care to transform patient care and services through greater connectivity, making data and information fully accessible to clinicians, health and care professionals and citizens. Node4 has successfully completed the criteria required for HSCN compliance, including meeting rigorous third-party standards. We are one of the handful of organisations to achieve this standard and I am pleased that the public sector team can grow this market sector.”

“Now that Node4 is fully HSCN compliant, we are able to grow our presence in the health and care sector. We are able to provide our connectivity services and HCS collaboration platform to end users; and help the NHS and other organisations alike with security infrastructure challenges. We can further build new relationships and enhance our key capabilities in this sector, particularly with our unique proposition being a leading UK IT and Communications provider with solely owned data centres,” said Paula Johnston, Head of Public Sector at Node4.

Paul Bryce, Business Development Director, Node4, adds; “The HSCN compliance enables us to continue to build on our success in the health and care sector and deliver high quality, reliable connectivity services and other technologies to customers in this area.”

Node4 appoints new Head of Public Sector Sales
Posted by Tom Hassan on 20 July 2017 05:03 PM

Node4 has appointed Paula Johnston to the position of Head of Public Sector Sales.

Johnston, whose previous position was with Virgin Media Business, brings an impressive track record to her new role with Node4, where we she will be responsible for growing the company’s presence in the public sector.

Paula Johnston is a public sector specialist with over 10 years of experience. During her tenure at Virgin Media, Paula managed the Public Sector Team across the midlands and south growing its presence within the sector. She managed key accounts and won lucrative deals being awarded as the top sales performer in 2015. Prior to joining Virgin Media Business, Johnston was the public sector Account Director at Airwave, where she won significant contracts to supply the Bluelight Sector with secure communication solutions including encrypted connectivity and Unified Communications.

Johnston has already achieved two key milestones for Node4. She has helped the firm become NHS’s Health and Social Care Network (HSCN) compliant, and achieve G-Cloud 9 supplier status. These two accreditations put Node4 in a strong position to fulfil the company’s ambitious growth plans for this sector.

Paul Bryce, Business Development Director, Node4, comments; “This is an important hire for us, as we work to position Node4 as a true end-to-end IT supplier for mid-tier, charity organisations and the public sector. Paula brings a wealth of valuable experience in the sector, and we expect her to play a key strategic role in helping us achieve our growth plans.”

Paula adds; “Node4 is ideally placed to help the public sector face some key IT infrastructure challenges, including security which is a key priority for police, local government and the NHS alike. Now that Node4 is fully HSCN compliant and a G-Cloud 9 supplier, my priority is to build on our experience in this sector to ensure that Node4 is established as a major contender. We are looking forward to this upcoming challenge, and I am excited to be the one spearheading this new development phase for Node4.”

Node4, has been awarded a place on G-Cloud 9, the UK Government’s cloud services procurement framework. Node4’s N4 Private Cloud, Cyber Security Services, NetApp Private Storage as a Service (NPSaaS), Storage as a Service (STaaS), Backup as a Service (BUaaS), Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) powered by Cisco and Amazon Web Services (AWS) solutions are listed on the framework, making these available to UK public sector organisations.

“A number of public sector organisations are increasing their use of cloud services due to its flexibility and cost savings. G-Cloud 9 makes it easier for organisations to check which types of suppliers meet the Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) approval criteria and readily engage with them. Being a G-Cloud9 supplier means that public sector services have better access to Node4’s solutions to run mission-critical systems and services,”

said Paula Johnston, Head of Public Sector at Node4.

Node4’s presence on the G-Cloud 9 directory of suppliers means that its services are available and can now be accessed by organisations across the UK public sector without the need for a full tender or competition procurement process.

These organisations include central government, local government, health, education, devolved administrations, emergency services, defence and not-for-profit organisations.

The CCS, which oversees the G-Cloud framework and Digital Marketplace, acts on behalf of the Crown to drive savings for the taxpayer and improve the quality of commercial and procurement activity. This agreement supports the Government’s policy to centrally manage the procurement of common goods and services through an integrated commercial function at the heart of government.

Organisations can access the G-Cloud 9 list through the Government’s Digital Marketplace.

G-Cloud 9 is a procurement framework within the Digital Marketplace which allows the public sector to buy cloud-based services from specialised suppliers. These suppliers have been through a rigorous tender process to meet the minimum standards required by the public sector. Products and services can be procured quicker and with considerable more ease than traditional procurement frameworks. The framework is regularly refreshed so public sector organisations can always access the most up to date and cutting-edge cloud solutions.

Suppliers are showcased in the Digital Marketplace, a web-based shop window offering a large range of services divided into four categories: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Specialist Cloud Services (SCS), with clear definitions and transparent price structures.
